It’s not surprising that after major UAW wins recently in Detroit, other autoworkers are looking to join the successful union. Just recently, Volkswagen workers in Chattanooga, TN., filed a petition with the NLRB for a vote to join that union. A huge majority of the employees have signed union cards. Isaac Meadows, a production team member in assembly, says he wants to see the union negotiate for more family time. Another major issue is plant safety. The plant employs over 4,000 autoworkers.
