On June 28, two women assaulted Station Agent Marshalee Reid at the New Lots station. She was punched and kicked when she was helping an elderly man go through the station gate. She was left bloodied and bruised, and, to make matters worse, she was in the process of recovering from a brain injury. One of the individuals responsible for the attack, Ayizhae Thomas, had been granted a supervised release, to the outrage of members and leaders of TWU Local 100, and appeared at the arraignment of her co-defendant, despite an order of protection that had been issued against her. “We have a mother who was assaulted for merely doing her job, and this individual walked free today,” said Robert Kelley, VP of Stations.
