T-Mobile, the ubiquitous phone and internet company, has been hit with a ruling that is a victory for unions. A D.C. Circuit rejected T-Mobile’s appeal of an NLRB ruling. T-Mobile had created an employer-sponsored group of T-Mobile call center workers, which was, according to the NLRB, an unlawful labor organization that was dominated by the company. Essentially, the faux union was a front for corporate control. The CWA had filed an unfair labor practice charge with the board in 2016 over this issue; the federal appeals court ruling is a victory for the union.
