Starting Monday, October 30, employees at some of the nation’s largest drugstores will walk off the job for three days, continuing a spate of such actions that occurred in Sept. and early Oct. of this year. Workers say harsh working conditions interfere with their ability to safely fill prescriptions. Similar to nurses who were driven to strike, and thousands of Kaiser Permanente health workers who also recently walked, these workers say that one major issue is continued understaffing. It is clear that all of these health care workers are genuinely concerned about the well-being of who they serve. Walgreens and CVS are mostly not unionized.
