A new project whose aim it is to connect federal workers whose rights have been violated has been formed. The AFL-CIO, We the Action, Democracy Forward, AFGE, ACS, NFFE-IAM, NTEU, Partnership for Public Service, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, and others will work with the hundreds of thousands of federal workers who were fired and subject to mistreatment by the Trump administration. The project is called Rise Up: Federal Workers Legal Defense Network. The Rise Up project will mobilize and train thousands of lawyers to provide legal guidance to these workers. Meanwhile, some of the nation’s top law firms have done the opposite: they have entered into contracts with Trump to represent his administration pro bono, setting the stage for a very ugly legal civil war.
