The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Region 20 in Calif., has issued a complaint against Amazon over its illegal refusal to bargain. The move is designed to force the company to the negotiating table after DCK6 warehouse workers in San Francisco joined the union a year ago. Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien said decisions such as this show that working people and organizations like the Teamsters will not let Amazon get away with their abuse of working people. Now, the Teamsters are confident that the NLRB will also give bargaining orders to other locations where Amazon has flouted the rule of law by not negotiating with the union workers. Despite this victory for Labor, Trump has the NLRB in its crosshairs, so while the Teamsters have every right to celebrate, the fate of the NLRB, and thus future rulings in favor of unions, itself hang in the balance.
