Washington, DC – Half of the nation’s protected species use farmland for over eighty percent of their habitat. But more and more of these family farms are going extinct. And over the past few years, state funding for farmland preservation has been slashed by 52 percent.

These cuts have already cost our country thousands of vital family farms. Especially in the “urban edge” communities where wildlife heavily relies on farmland for food, shelter and safety as their original habitats have virtually disappeared due to development.

You can help lead the fight for farmland protection and save wildlife habitat.  Please let your Governor know that you want more state funding for farmland protection to ensure our wildlife has the habitat necessary to survive.
