Stellantis, parent company of Chrysler, sent out an initial deceptive notice to 400 employees, requiring that they take a remote work day for an “important operational meeting.” During the meeting, they were told they were laid off. These nonunion employees in technology and engineering had no recourse. One of those unceremoniously let go said he believes the reason for the move is that the company plans to increase its outsourcing of jobs to “low-cost” countries such as India, Mexico and Brazil.
