The International Longshoremen’s Association, AFL-CIO mourns the passing of Clarence Pittman, Jr., President, ILA Local 1416 in Miami and South Florida and a District Vice President and Executive Board member of the ILA’s South Atlantic and Gulf Coast District.

North Bergen, NJ – “The ILA has lost one of its most valuable and truly legendary officers in Clarence Pittman, Jr.,” said ILA President Harold J. Daggett.  “He was a champion to the rank and file members of the ILA in South Florida whom he represented with honor and dignity for some many years and he was a personal inspiration to me for his leadership qualities.

“All his Sisters and Brothers – his second family – in the ILA extend to his wife Gwendolyn W.  Pittman and Pittman family our deep condolences.  May we all continue to be inspired by the life and good works of Clarence Pittman, Jr.”
