Workers at a Home Depot store in Philadelphia have filed paperwork to unionize. The petition, filed with the NLRB, seeks representation for 274 workers. Merchandising, specialty, and operations associates are included under the name Home Depot Workers United. An organizer and store employee, Vincent Quiles, said the main concerns are wages, staffing, and working conditions. He also said Home Depot “has a history of union-busting.” “If we are successful, as far as I know, this would be the first store in the U.S. to successfully organize,” he said.
