From the 82nd Airborne to Union Leadership: A Lifetime of Service

Born on March 27, 1972, Mr. Gugliotta has dedicated his life to serving his country, his profession, and his fellow workers. A proud Gulf War veteran, respected union leader, and committed public servant, he has spent decades advocating for working men and women while building a legacy of leadership and service. He is married to his wife, Anne, and together they have raised their son, Michael.

Mr. Gugliotta currently serves as Assistant Chief Construction Inspector with the New York City Department of Buildings, a position he has held since June 2016. In August 2022, he was elected President and Business Manager of Allied Building Inspectors IUOE Local 211, where he leads and represents members throughout the industry. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Local 211 Welfare and Annuity Funds, helping to safeguard the benefits and future security of union members and their families.

His commitment to organized labor spans more than 30 years. A union member since March 1995, Mr. Gugliotta has been a steadfast advocate for workers’ rights and workplace protections. He served as a Union Delegate from August 2016 to August 2019 before being elected to Local 211’s Executive Board, where he has continued to play a vital role in advancing the interests of the membership.

Before beginning his career in public service and labor leadership, Mr. Gugliotta proudly served in the United States Army’s elite 82nd Airborne Division from 1991 to 1994 and is a Gulf War veteran. Following his active-duty service, he continued serving his country in the New York Army National Guard’s 101st Cavalry Regiment, 42nd Infantry Division, from 1994 to 1999.

Whether serving in uniform, protecting the interests of workers, or helping to lead one of New York’s respected labor organizations, Mr. Gugliotta has remained committed to the values of integrity, dedication, and service. His career reflects a lifelong commitment to leadership, community, and the advancement of working men and women.
