Thousands of construction workers, first responders, public employees, and volunteers answered the call at Ground Zero and throughout the recovery. Many later faced serious physical illnesses, mental health issues, and other long-term consequences of that service.
On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, HEART 9/11 and the Building & Construction Trades Council of Greater New York, first responders, recovery workers, families and supporting organizations for the 25th Anniversary Tribute to Labor of 9/11 will be meeting together at 3:30 pm – At the World Trade Center – North Oculus Plaza.
