One of the most famous photos ever, “Lunch Atop a Skyscraper” taken in 1932 and showing 11 ironworkers having their midday meal high above the New York City-scape, has now been made into a partial reconstruction of the experience at Rockefeller Center. With safety in mind for riders, visitors will be strapped in to a recreated frame on the 69th floor of 30 Rockefeller Plaza, and lifted 12 feet above an observation deck platform. The views of NYC should be phenomenal. The experience is called The Beam, and will be available through the New Year.
