From the Battlefields of Iraq to the Front Lines of Labor – Born on September 19, 1981, in Bay Shore, New York, he attended Sayville High School and graduated in 1999. Shortly after graduation, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in January 2000.
Following Recruit Training at Parris Island, South Carolina, he attended Radio Operator School in Twentynine Palms, California. Upon completing communications training, he was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Serving as a Field Radio Operator, he was attached to Weapons Company and assigned as the Company Radio Operator for the Anti-Armor Platoons.
During his time with 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines, he participated in numerous deployments and missions, including assignments to Montana and Idaho, where he assisted local firefighters in combating devastating wildfires. He also completed a six-month deployment to Okinawa, Japan, and participated in two Combined Arms Exercises at Twentynine Palms, California. In recognition of his professionalism and leadership, he was selected to serve as Color Sergeant for the battalion, proudly presenting the Colors at Marine Corps Balls, military ceremonies, and community events.
On March 20, 2003, his battalion crossed from Kuwait into Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Over the next six months, he participated in combat operations in and around An Nasiriyah and other locations southeast of Baghdad. Following his deployment and completion of active-duty service, he was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps with the rank of Sergeant. During his subsequent service in the Individual Ready Reserve, he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
After returning home, he married his high school sweetheart, Meryl, and together they built a loving family. They are the proud parents of two children, Madison and Tristan.
Transitioning into civilian life, he spent seven years working as a sales representative for Kellogg’s before beginning a new chapter in the utility industry. He joined IBEW Local 1049 on Long Island as a Meter Reader with National Grid and went on to hold several positions within the company. Today, he works at PSEG Long Island and has been a proud member of IBEW Local 1049 for more than 14 years.
Currently serving as a Business Representative for IBEW Local 1049, he represents both natural gas and electrical workers, advocating for the rights, safety, and well-being of union members. He also serves as Chairman of the IBEW Local 1049 Veterans Committee, where he has helped organize and participate in numerous local and national charitable initiatives supporting veterans, active-duty service members, and their families.
His life reflects a steadfast commitment to service—whether in uniform, in the workplace, or within his union. Through leadership, dedication, and a deep sense of responsibility to others, he continues to make a lasting impact on the lives of those he serves.
