George Michell, the owner of 7 McDonalds in Brooklyn, has been ordered to pay $1 million dollars to 511 workers. The city found that he had violated their workers’ rights. Michell violated the Fair Workweek Law. He unlawfully required employees to work “clopening” shifts, failed to pay owed premiums, and fired two employees who were merely exercising their rights.
