In the wake of what seems like a mass uprising of entertainment workers who have been pushed to the limit, production assistants (PAs) have now joined forces with Actors’ Equity Association. Equity announced the unionization campaign on 9/22, hoping the Broadway League would offer the workers voluntary recognition. Now, it has filed with the NLRB for recognition as the bargaining representative for the PAs. PAs have a vast range of duties necessary to the smooth running of a show, yet they are hourly employees.
