Except for health care, there is a negative overall growth since June. The Trump administration and congressional Republican leaders have passed a law that will remove health care from 17 million people. Unemployment is up to 4.3%, the highest since October 2021. The number of the long-term unemployed is at a level not seen since the pandemic. Black unemployment is rising faster than for any other group and is once again disproportionately higher than the overall rate at 7.8%—with 6.7% Black women and 7.1% for Black men—another number not seen since the pandemic.
The Trump administration is continuing to bust federal worker unions and hinder the functioning of the National Labor Relations Board. This will continue to increase job losses throughout the nation.
