After a protracted battle with UPS, tough words by Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien, and the very real threat of a strike, UPS Teamsters have ratified their contract with their employer. UPS employs over 340,000 Teamsters, and the agreement is said to be nothing short of historic. The vote to ratify was 86.3% in favor. The five-year contract includes raised wages for both full and part-time workers, more full-time jobs, the end of forced overtime, and safety protections such as air-conditioning, sorely needed by workers as temperatures soar nationwide. 44 supplements have also been added to the master agreement.
