The Retail, Wholesale, Department Store Union (RWDSU) has made significant inroads in the area of bookstore unionization, from larger corporate chains such as Barnes and Noble to smaller independent locations. Barnes and Noble workers at the Manhattan Flagship Store in Union Square voted overwhelmingly to join the union. This follows unanimous wins at two other Barnes and Noble stores, one at Rutgers University and one in Hadley, MA. Much-loved indies such as McNally Jackson and Greenlight Books in New York City have also joined the uprising.
