Locomotive engineers at NJ Transit have rejected a tentative contract deal, due to insufficient wages offered by the NJ Transit Board. This turn of events has now meant that a possible strike is on the horizon. The Members of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen rejected the offer by a wide margin; 87% of the 427 engineers cast a “no” vote. Both sides will still have time to negotiate for roughly another month, before a strike becomes imminent.
