Google subcontractor Accenture PLC has fired over two-thirds of employees at Google Help. The reason behind the slashing of staff is the workers’ unionizing efforts with the Alphabet Workers Union (AWU), Communications Workers Local 9889. The employees are launch coordinators, graphic designers and writers working out of San Francisco and Austin, TX. Those workers who have not yet been fired, but will be, according to Accenture, are being ordered to train their replacements, located in India and the Philipines.
