Brooklyn, NY workers who are employees of the Nitehawk Cinema in Park Slope have announced their intention to unionize. 20 employees made the declaration at a managers’ meeting. Issues include unfair labor practices, health and safety, and harassment, according to the workers. They also cite a lack of respect from management. They plan to unionize with UAW Local 2179. 100 employees have petitioned the NLRB for official certification.
