Workers employed by Delta Air Lines along with allies rallied on July 14 at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. As many as 45,000 are seeking to join unions. The Teamsters, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) and the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA-CWA) are the unions involved. Delta has engaged in union busting for years, employing a wide range of tactics including threatening employees with termination for union activities. Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien said, “Apparently some [Delta shareholders] don’t want this airline to go union. That’s too bad because it’s going union anyways.”
