Workers at a Trader Joe’s in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, filed a petition to organize a union on Friday, September 23rd. They say they want a living wage, better health care access and time off policies, and “clear and fairly applied disciplinary processes.” They also say they have faced racial discrimination, poor working conditions, and union busting. A flyer distributed to customers says managers fired a Black union organizer a day after telling staff they had learned about the unionizing efforts.
