The strike by SAG-AFTRA members has now reached its 118th-day mark. After various stops and starts, talks resumed between the union and AMPTP, which represents Hollywood studios, but so far no deal has been reached. Tuesday, Nov. 7, negotiations stretched throughout the day, with no resolution. AI and its uses by the studios to capture, manipulate, and reuse actors’ images without full remuneration, rights and consent has actors and union officials fuming. While SAG-AFTRA and AMPTP attempt to come to an agreement, pickets continue on the streets of NYC and LA.
