Nurses within The New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) who work for CenterLight, a nonprofit health care company that provides long-term home healthcare, have delivered an unfair labor practice strike notice to their employers. CenterLight had, flouting the law, refused to continue the nurses’ health coverage during contract negotiations as well as refusing to return to the bargaining table. Nurses who care for CenterLight patients take care of some of the most vulnerable homebound New Yorkers, and are able to provide a broad range of care, from routine check-ups to emergency care. They travel across boroughs to reach those who most desperately need their services.
