Local 100 Steps Out with Pride for Annual Parade

Local 100 members, staff and officers took to the streets Sunday June 28th for the 57th annual Pride Parade along with a float and a Big Bus decked out in rainbows for the occasion.

As our lively and colorful contingent headed down Fifth Avenue in the sunshine, DJ Cade kept the crowd moving while MaBSTOA 1 Recording Secretary Harriette Goodridge-Seymour shouted out Local 100 on the mic to the spectators gathered on the sidewalks.

The route turned west on 8th Street and passed the historic Stonewall Inn before heading back uptown to end in Chelsea.

“Solidarity means leaving no one behind. It means standing up for one another, especially when it is difficult. That is how unions win. And that is how progress is made,” said Local 100 President John V. Chiarello. “So today, let us celebrate Pride, celebrate unity, and recommit ourselves to the principle that an injury to one is an injury to all.”
