After 47 days on the picket line, workers at the Fairfield Inn and Four Points Times Square have won a contract.
Workers who began this fight nearly four years ago will receive more than $50,000 each in back pay, immediate wage increases of $10 to $15 per hour, free family health care, retirement benefits, and more.
The victory comes after thousands of members, elected officials, and supporters stood with the workers through extreme heat, rainstorms, and wildfire smoke throughout the strike. In the years spent negotiating their first contract, staff faced numerous unfair labor practices from management, including bad-faith bargaining and discrimination against union supporters.
Hotel and Gaming Trades Council members walked off the job at the end of June and encouraged guests to boycott the two hotels.
