A North Carolina Chick-fil-A owner has been fined over $6,000 and ordered to pay certain employees back wages. The Department of Labor found that three workers under the age of 18 were employed in the hazardous job of working with trash compactors, which is prohibited for minors by Federal regulations. That resulted in the $6,450 fine. Additionally, it was discovered that some employees were paid in meal vouchers, which led to the penalty of back wages.
