Surprisingly, as the Trump administration attempts to outright destroy the NLRB, a federal appeals court in the D.C. Circuit Court has upheld a NLRB decision against Starbucks. The coffee chain has long been a bastion of union-busting. Workers at a Starbucks in Ann Arbor, Michigan, voiced the retaliation they had endured for organizing, and the NLRB ruled the chain had violated federal labor laws. A similar scenario unfolded in Jacksonville, FL, where another judge ruled that Starbucks didn’t bargain with the workers’ union, but changed their policies on their dress code to tamp down on union shirts.
