While the Trump administration has been busy gutting worker protections, breaking unions, undermining the Constitution, attacking oppressed communities, among other ways to gain control of the American people, the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists are strategizing as to how best to combat the coup we are now experiencing. Towards the end of May, they will hold an International Convention in Orlando under the theme “Preserving and Building on Our Legacy: Unbought, Unbowed, Unstoppable.” Black labor leaders and rank-and-file activists will come together to work towards how best to continue in its historic role as a bridge between the labor and civil rights movement.
