Corey Carthon is a proud United States Army veteran and dedicated union tradesman whose life has been defined by service, discipline, and hard work. Today, he works as a Sign Erector with SMART Local 137, where he continues to demonstrate the same commitment and professionalism that characterized his military service.
Corey served honorably in the U.S. Army as a Cannon Fire Direction Specialist (13E), achieving the rank of Specialist (E-4). After completing Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, he was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia.
During his military career, Corey completed a tour of duty patrolling the borders of Kuwait and Iraq, contributing to critical operations that supported regional security and mission readiness. His dedication to duty and exemplary service earned him numerous military honors, including the Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and the Army Lapel Button.
Following his honorable military service, Corey transitioned into the skilled trades, where he found a new way to serve his community. As a member of SMART Local 137, he has built a reputation for professionalism, reliability, and pride in his craft. Through his work, he helps build and maintain the infrastructure that keeps New York moving while continuing the values of teamwork, responsibility, and service instilled in him during his time in uniform.
