Staff at a Harlem charter school announced Friday that they want to join the teacher’s union.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo calls for tougher evaluations on teachers, echoing a similar proposal from Bloomberg. This comes before major layoffs in the public school system and would end the practice of “First In, Last Out.”
