 Municipal labor unions stated that the city shut down negotiations on alternatives to layoffs to ameliorating the budget gap.

Employees at the Fulton, NY Huhtamaki packaging plant rejected the company’s collective bargaining agreement.

Yesterday, Macy’s workers ratified their new contract in four stores. This is the same contract that prevented a strike by Macy’s unionized employees.

The agreement that Gov. Andrew Cuomo made with the Civil Service Employees Association has staved off next Friday’s planned statewide job cuts.

Gov. Cuomo’s agreement with the CSEA may make it harder for New York City unions to find common ground with Mayor Bloomberg.

In the largest union election for federal workers, Transportation Security Administration employees selected the American Federation of Government Employees for representation.
