The jobless rate in New York rises from 8% to 14.9% when taking “underutilized” workers into account.

More than 45,000 Verizon workers went on strike yesterday morning.

Laborers International Union, Local 137, has to prove that a contract signed between itself and a New York company to keep the Meadowlands Racetrack open was legal.

The teachers union is asking the Department of Education to throw out a $27 million with a News Corp. affiliate.

Ship Officers and Stewards have ended their strike that began last Monday.
