Cheektowaga, N.Y. — Teamsters Local 264 members at Stroehmann Bakeries and Grocery Haulers Inc. (GHI) in Olean, N.Y., have voted overwhelmingly to ratify contracts providing for significant workplace improvements. Route sales drivers and garage mechanics at Stroehmann voted in favor of a successor agreement that improves wages and maintains health care benefits.

Also, Drivers who transport Stroehmann products, but are subcontracted for transportation work voted to ratify a first agreement that improves pay, health care coverage and time off. The drivers will also maintain their Stroehmann seniority. Through an additional memorandum of understanding with the company, it was agreed that if GHI is no longer Stroehmann's logistics company for any reason in the future, the drivers' jobs will be protected.

"We are pleased we were able to negotiate a strong agreement after being on an extension since the end of last year. These agreements provide six years of improved wages and protect the members' health care and retirement," said Brian Dickman, president and principal officer of Teamsters Local 264 in Cheektowaga, N.Y.

*** Teamsters Local 264 represents approximately 4,400 members in bakery, beverage, dairy, warehouse, law enforcement and public sector highway and transportation departments in New York State.
