‘Six’ Brings New Music Back to Broadway

A scene from the new Broadway musical “Six.”

New York, NY – “Six” is the first original musical of the fall 2021 Broadway season and it is a joy. It was scheduled to open in March, but had to shut down due to the ongoing pandemic.

The captivating story revolves around the six wives of Henry VIII, the infamous Tudor king who was known for divorcing and beheading his spouses. The show stars Adrianna Hicks as Catherine of Aragon, Andre Macasaet as Ann Boleyn, Abey Mueller as Jane Seymour, Brittaney Mack as Anna of Cleaves, Samantha Pauley as Katherine Howard, and Anna Uzelle as Catherine Parr.

Each is superb conveying her character’s tumultuous time with the bloodthirsty king through a wide-ranging set of melodic songs.  Despite the grim nature of its subject matter, Six is a must-see show which generates real excitement and fun. The intricate costumes by Gabriella Slade and compelling lighting design by Tim Deiling further enhances the wonderful performances. Writers Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss have a created a delightful 80-minutes of show-topping numbers and a great way to welcome audiences back to Broadway.
