RWDSU Organizes Workers at Pleasure Chest

New York, NY – Workers at Pleasure Chest  in varrious locations throughout New York City voted to join RWDSU. Negotiations have begun for a fair contract with health benefits and job security.

The RWDSU’s union organizing campaign at Pleasure Chest faced an intense union busting program. Store management hired attornies and a public relations firm to stop all union organizing. Noted union buster attorney Jackson Lewis and anti-union firm Labor Relations International were hired to ‘keep out’ RWDSU. In spite of managements efforts to keep the company union free, a unanimous vote by the Pleasure Chest workers was conducted on the evening of June 29, 2017 and was certified by the NLRB.

“I am proud that the RWDSU will be at the bargaining table to ensure that these workers never face that type of horrific transphobic behavior by their company again,” said Stuart Appelbaum, president, Retail, Wholesale & Department Store Union (RWDSU).
