Pollster John Zogby reports in his weekly White House report card that President Obama has a real problem on his hands: a lack of options in dealing with issues like Russia, immigration, Syria and the Middle East.

Washington, DC – "It seems hard to play the long game in an era of instant news and talking analysis by the nanosecond. The president assures us that President Putin's gambit in Crimea is doomed and that stronger sanctions can follow. But it is hard to communicate that point while it looks like Russia is winning.

Even harder to get that point across when the long game fails to produce results in Syria, in negotiations between Israel and Palestine and on immigration reform. This is a real problem for this president because there does not appear to be any real short-game options.

At least for now, there is no real progress to report, and Mr. Obama's polling numbers are stuck at 42 percent to 43 percent. On the flip side, weekly jobless claims are at pre-recession levels and well below what economists projected them to be."
