Thirty-four union members representing 23 local unions took part in the 19th Annual New Jersey State AFL-CIO Labor Candidates School on August 15 & 16, 2015. The two-day immersion course teaches union members the nuts and bolts of building, coordinating and winning an election campaign. Topics included campaign planning, fundraising, media relations, voter contact and message development.

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO Labor Candidates School has an unrivaled tradition of success by providing rank-and-file union members with knowledge and training to manage their campaigns along with resources and volunteers from fellow union members. Volunteer instructors included the top political consultants and election strategists in the nation.

The program has been recognized nationally for its effectiveness, achieving a total of 817 election victories for union members since 1997.
