Queens, NY—The New York Hotel Trades Council (HTC), a labor federation representing 32,000 hotel workers across New York has announced its endorsement of Austin Shafran for City Council.

Following endorsements by the Working Families Party, the NYC Central Labor Council, 32BJ, and Teamsters Joint Council 16, Shafran announced a slate of new union endorsements last week, including the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 3, Communication Workers of America Local 1106, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 94, and Plumbers Local 1.

“Austin Shafran will be a fierce advocate for working families in the New York City Council,” said Josh Gold, Political Director of the Hotel Trades Council. “As a lifelong public servant with union roots, he has the experience and vision needed to grow the middle class and expand economic opportunity for all New Yorkers.”
