Washington, DC – Harley-Davidson has taken Trumps bonus money to build a plant in Thailand putting Americans out of work. Consistent with large corporations, monies gained in tax incentives are used to move american jobs overseas.
Harley-Davidson will be opening a large factory in Thailand and closing down operations in Kansas City Missouri.  After 21 years in operations,  this Missouri plant will cease to exist along with almost 1,000 american jobs.

International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers president Bob Martinez Jr. said “These companies are taking tax breaks with one hand and handing out pink slips with the other. I’m going to call it like I see it…this is a corporate ambush on working people.”

In spite of denial from corporate America, workers across the country are losing jobs to foreign markets. American companies are using our tax incentive structure to built plants and expand operations outside the USA.

Harley-Davidson’s statement regarding the Missouri factory closing was pathetic.  “This was a decision we did not take lightly. The Kansas City plant has been assembling Harley-Davidson motorcycles since 1997, and our employees will leave a great legacy of quality, pride and manufacturing leadership.”

Following the announcement of the closure, Harley-Davidson stock fell 8 percent. Now where are the Republicans.
