Congressional Passage of Zadroga Act

Albany, NY – This victory is an example of what can happen when the labor movement and its political allies stand together, fight together, and speak with one voice for a just cause.

It means the thousands of brave men and women who risked their own lives to help in the rescue and recovery after 9/11 will no longer have to plead for programs they so desperately need. It means their heroic actions on that horrific day and for so many that followed have not been forgotten. Congress did what was right, and Senators Schumer and Gillibrand, Representatives Maloney, Nadler, and King, as well as the entire New York Delegation was instrumental in leading the way.
